Ray R. Fisher

Ray R. Fisher, 83, of Tamaroa, passed away at 3:15 P.M., Sunday, August 8, 2004 at his residence.
Ray had worked as a mine operator at Old Ben #21 coal mine in Sesser.  He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Tamaroa and UMW of A.  He was a U.S. Army veteran of W.W. II.
He was born August 18, 1920 at Tamaroa, IL, the son of Harmon and Minnie (Ellermeyer) Fisher.
He married Mildred I. Szczeblewski on October 4, 1941 at Chicago, IL and she survives.
He is survived by his wife of Tamaroa, three children - Barbara Taylor and husband Paul, Dennis Fisher and wife Sherry, and Connie Rucks and husband Tom, all of Tamaroa, two nephews - Lawrence Fisher and Duane Fisher, twelve grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son - Thomas Fisher and one brother - Wilbur Fisher.
Mass of Christian burial was at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, August 11, 2004 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Tamaroa with Msgr. Melvin Vandeloo officiating.
Friends called from 5 to 8 P.M., Tuesday at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa.
Prayer service was held at 7 P.M., Tuesday at the funeral home.
Interment was in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery at Tamaroa.
Military graveside rites were conducted.
Friends may make memorials to Masses.
